I'm a clinical pharmacist and faculty member who has been embedded in primary care and family medicine residency training since 2012. For years, I ran a weekly Medical Decision Making education series, structured sessions designed to help residents think more rigorously about the evidence behind clinical choices. I've sat through more journal clubs than I can count. Most of them were a chore. A resident spent hours building slides, the group half-listened, an attending asked a few pointed questions, and everyone walked out having caught up on their charting. Engagement was the problem and I think I figured out a way to change that.

Dispense As Written is my attempt to fix it. This is an independent project, no institution, no sponsor, no agenda beyond the evidence. Every episode is a rigorous, clinical trial breakdown built around one question: does this change what you do for your patient? Not surrogate endpoints. Not disease-oriented data dressed up as outcomes. Patient-oriented evidence, the kind that actually matters at the bedside. Beyond individual trials, I also tackle the fundamentals of evidence-based medicine, trial designs, levels of evidence, and searching strategies, not as abstract concepts, but grounded in real studies so the methodology always connects back to a clinical question you're actually facing.
